One-way Ticket

One-way Ticket

Purchasing Tickets

Undoubtedly, our life is like one-way trip of evangelical assignment having a window seat in a jumbo Boeing 747 flight. Your identity is Christ’s representative for His Kingdom. Your destination is an unknown domain. And your visa of entering God’s Kingdom is determined by how many missing sheep you retrieve back from God’s malicious enemy and how much Gospel you preach. Due to the fact that most of the seats are occupied by unbelievers who are spellbound by our enemies—Satan and his aides,God delegates Holy Spirit of truth as the captain, who takes the wheel of this flight to ensure that all His home-longing children can arrive home safely.

"mi,mi,mi,mi, mi,"me,me,me,me, me,
you,you,you, / him,him,him /her,her,her / them,them,them
" It is the song of our selfishness; a song we sing
far too often. It's the most off-key chorus of all!
It's when I'm performing as if it's all about me.
Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus

The Lesson of the Cocoon-繭的故事

But those who wait upon God get fresh strength(renew their strength).
They spread (mount up with )their wings and soar like eagles,
They run and don't get tired(be weary), they walk and don't lag behind.
-----The lesson of the cocoon-----
It was God’s way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon. Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If God allowed us to go through our life without any obstacles, it would cripple/harm us. A star is brightest in the dead darkness. A man’s character is revealed when facing the fiercest trial. We would not be as strong as we could have been; we would never be able to fly.
When we go through a trial of adversity, we need to realize that God is a great surgeon and is going to perform a radical surgery on our life. The purpose of this surgery is not to destroy us, but to give us a new heart. God is making a fundamental(basic) change in who we are and who we will be.
Nowhere does the Bible teach that anyone can be exempt from disasters and pain, for we live in a world infected with sin. But we can rest assured that we can face trials with a power others do not have—the power of God. Bear(Keep) in mind that God will always reveal treasures from these dark places if we are willing to walk through the valley of death.
Like an eagle soaring high into sky without flapping its wings aimlessly, it just always makes good use of strong currents to help its flight. As we wait on God, He helps us use the winds of adversity to soar above our problems and weather(V) the storm.
Failures can often cause us to question the calling God has placed on our lives. But many times we can't see the big picture. Friend, whether you can see it or not, God is working in your life--but sometimes He works behind the scenes. If you are a believer and have experienced failure, don't give up! God can use that failure to produce success and blessing in your life according to the promises in His Word.
Ask God to turn(transform) your failures into triumphs, and thank Him for the promises of His Word(Jesus). Just as the Bible says, “ Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they should mount up with wings like eagles.”

Well or Good

Get well or be good?
Well when used as a noun means a deep hole in the ground from which people obtain water. Well means the place where we can get water which is indispensable for surviving in the desert.
John 5:5 Jesus asked the man who was there had been an invalid for ages (thirty-eight years). When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, "Do you want to get well? What did the sentence stand for? That meant “ Would you like to get the living water to make you survive in dire water? Do you need desperate help even no one else come to your rescue?” Jesus isn’t a fair-weather friend but a savior, who can provide the well containing the living water to any disabled, paralyzed and invalid people.
From John 5:8-9—Then Jesus said to him, "Get up! Pick up your mat and walk." At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. “Pick up” and “Walk” all represent action and moving. Jesus asked the man to put his healing into action—telling others how this kind of miracle happened. Jesus asks us to fulfill the adage—action speaks louder than words.
Being well accompanies many responsibilities for telling others how you found the well of salvation. If you get well, you have to be a productive messenger to proclaim God’s love and mercy. Wellness doesn’t mean being good for your own sake, or for getting approval, happiness, and fulfillment from others. On the contrary, being well means accepting the task of cross-bearer as Jesus did on the cross.
Jesus loves you and wants to make you well. Do you grasp it? Do you want to get well from this pointed question? Find the true and lasting well that can sustain you through the desert in the scorching sun and stop being a frog in the well, whose thinking is only limited by your cramped knowledge of this world. Amen.

In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

【每日靈糧—Our Daily Bread】
Conflicts are the repelling force to make us stronger.
【The Moral of the Golden Sentence】
The right kind of nobody attitude is the true servant of God.
Conflicts do occur in marriage and can cause disastrous results if not managed properly. Attitude can make all the difference. One option in dealing with conflict is an "I'll get him (her)" attitude. "I win and you lose because I am right and you are wrong." This is a power play and shows little or no love. We may treat ourselves and others as having no worth. But remember, God doesn’t make nobodies. The most fruitful attitude when facing conflicts is "I care enough to confront. I want to stay in a respectful and honest relationship with you. I want you to know where I stand and what I am feeling, needing, valuing and wanting." This attitude invites your spouse to change but does not demand it.
There are many situations when a little singing, a little humor, can extinguish the flames of a dispute or a bit of tension in the home. In fact, parents who are habitually humming or singing at their places of work are surprisingly empowered to defuse crises and problems.
Ask God to help us when facing conflict. Help us to not only have the right attitude toward solving problems but also always reflect the love of Christ. What is more , ask God to help me to speak the truth in love.
Without Christ we can do nothing. With Him we can do everything He wants us to do.

Be a better man

Be a Better Man
Don’t sell your soul to gain worldly treasures. Instead, use your soul to glorify God, for which you exist the world.
Mark 8:35-40
35For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it. 36What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? 37Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? 38If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father's glory with the holy angels."
Do you want to be a better man or just a better businessman? Is it your desire to be a better inner being or just outer doing? Being a better man is the door to being a better husband, a better father, and a better friend. To have a real partnership with God is your irreplaceable priority on your life journey.
We often lose our soul to soar in the career by selling our spiritual inheritance from God to the world. What good is it if you gain the whole world but forfeit your soul? What an eyesore if an airplane is flying high in the air, but it finds nowhere to land? The impending doom is as clear as can be—running out of gas and then a big crash.
Even if you are successful and highly productive by the standards of this world but lacking in spiritual foundations, all your pursuits are in the end meaningless and empty like chasing the wind. Submit your heart to Christ and find the true landing destination. Put your energy into the right place to make you fly higher and then you can both make a handsome profit and find true contentment.
Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.”—Psalm 37:4. When a person delights himself or herself in the Lord, then the desires of our hearts become more in line with the desires of God’s heart. Does that mean you can never ask for a new job, a new car or other things of personal pleasure? Absolutely not! It does, however, reveal God’s deeper desire for us: to become more like Him.
We can be a better man because of the best man—Jesus Christ. Devote yourself to being like Him, and seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Beat around the bush—from Moses--

Exodus 3:2-4
2 There the angel of the LORD appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. 3 So Moses thought, "I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up."
4 When the LORD saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, "Moses! Moses!"
And Moses said, "Here I am."

Beat around the bush—from Moses
When we talk about the phrase “ to beat around the bush , we mean talking about something for a long time without coming to the main point. We often say that stop beating about the bush and tell me what you want. The phrase is derived from Moses.
From Exodus, God had chosen Moses from birth to be the leader to deliver his people from Egypt. Exodus 2-11, when Moses watched an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, he killed him and became a murderer. In the beginning, Moses innocently thought that no one witnessed the killing. After the incident came to light, he escaped from the country. After becoming a murderer and fleeing to Midian , his identity from an Egyptian prince to a wanted man wandering in a foreign country and then his job became a shepherd. Living the life of a shepherd, Moses started to learn the ways of the people he would be leading and the life in the desert. It was all the accurate preparation that God had long made for him.
Preparation work in the desert for forty years having been completed, it was high time for God to do His transforming work. God visited Moses in the mysterious and unexpected flames of a burning bush and spoke with God(Exodus 3:2-4). God commanded him to bring his people out of slavery. But Moses made continual excuses to say no to God because he felt inadequate for the laborious task God asked him to go. He was definitely not qualified for the job all by himself. Moses’ unwillingness came from fear and worries because he used to be a stammerer and didn’t have the persuasive power of speech. He felt embarrassed and nervous when facing the public.
Moses originally would like to hide behind the bushes or his inadequacies, reluctantly accepting God’s calling. What would your reaction be when your situation was like Moses? Sometimes we wrongly think we can get away with doing something wrong if no one catches us. Sooner or later, however, doing wrong will catch up with us just as it did with Moses. Furthermore, even if we are not caught in this life, we still have give accounts to God face-to-face.
Jesus has never used ways of coaxing people into following Him. But we need to consider the cost of beating around the bush. He underscored the immediate decision to follow Him from Luke 14:33 “In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple.” He is making very clear the cost of following Him. On the other hand, He is also giving people a way out if they think the cost is too high. There is no pressure to become disciples, no obligation to keep following.
Jesus requires people to follow Him with their hearts without reservation. When Matthew, a tax collector, who was disliked by men at that time, was sitting at his tax-collection booth, Jesus just said to him, “ Come, be my disciple, so Matthew got up and followed”. From the passage, we understand that Jesus’ calling to be His disciples could be as straightforward as can be. Neither did Jesus put him down for his immoral deeds, nor did He point out any wrongdoings he did. Matthew was shocked enough because he never heard anything so simple but so poignant statement, ” Come, be my disciple.” To the astonishment of people around Matthew, he just got up and followed him, leaving everything behind.
Everyone has a calling from God. God has called you like Moses and Matthew to train you for a special purpose. God wants to transform you into the man beyond your imagination. God will be with you; obey and follow what His holy words promise. Discover God’s presence in your daily life and come to realization of His true calling until the good work He has stored in you completes.
Bear in mind that when Jesus calls us to follow Him to be His disciples, no excuse to say no and defend your past wrongdoings. All we need is get up and follow. Beating around the bush will only be doomed to destruction.

【每日靈糧—Our Daily Bread】
Gossip has no room for justification.(八卦沒有合理化的空間)

【The Moral of the Golden Sentence】
Use our mouths to glorify the Lord , uplift others, and proclaim the love of God or just stay shut. Use kinds words which are like honey----sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.
Among God’s commands to His people is “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor” (Ex. 20:16). While this may be talking primarily about lying at judicial proceedings, gossip could also be included in the command because it violates the law of love toward our neighbor. Proverbs uses strong language to describe this use of our words. It’s like “a club, a sword, and a sharp arrow” against others (25:18).
Gossip is like poison to wreck havoc on our daily life and relationship with others. Thus, combat it and choose to face up with it. Then our lives can be a gossip-free zone. Speaking the truth in love is not always easy, but knowledge without love is of no value. As followers of Christ, we must be devoted to living in the truth. This means not only our words but also our actions should reflect Christ’s truth.
But when in conflict, there are ways to confront others in love without being judgmental. Use kinds words in love , which should be done caringly, gently, constructively and clearly--not with put-downs and condemnation. This gives others the freedom to change the behavior without feeling personal rejection. Ask Jesus to help us and teach us to speak the truth in love rather than speak in anger when we’ve responded to our spouses, children, and co-workers. Ask God to forgive us for speaking recklessly about others behind their backs in order to make us superior. Help us think twice before we speak. Teach us to be more loving with our words.May the words of our mouths, and the meditations of our hearts, be truly acceptable in God’s sight, for He is the source of our strength, and our salvation
Rid yourself of speaking harshly and putting others down and foster the habit of responding to people around you caringly, gently, constructively and clearly.

Who you are or What you are

christian family.jpg

Who you are or What you are
“Who you are” means your true being or identity in God and “what you are “just means your job or what you do. Everyone in his life probably has an idea of who you are or who you are supposed to be so you can survive in the competitive world. But have you ever stopped to meditate this question, “ Who has God made me to be? God knew exactly who he was doing when he made and gave you the purpose of being a man.
Sometimes, we fumble around the wrong expectations others have put on us rather than what God has planted in the depths of our hearts. Being your true self is not easy for we are easily affected by earthly values and expectations. Who do you think God had made you to be? Being or doing, which you do choose? Being a true self or just keep doing like aimless flies in the air.
Ask God to help us keep on the right track of searching true selves rather than the common way the masses think. After all, finding your true self is just the right purpose of being a follower in Jesus Christ. Amen.

Composing an ever-lasting melody of your life needs shedding away the letter “e” out of ego and emotion. What does the “e” represent? “e” means erratic, changeable, selfishness, and self-centered. And your transient life will become an ego trip, regardless of others’ welfare. True faith in God will blow out the “e” and then the “d” will add to them, which means drive from God. Your ego and emotion will naturally transform into “go”(action) and motion. Your faith is not just a statement; on the contrary, it should also result in action. In the process of blowing out your ego and false mask, you will gain genuine self-esteem.

當你一腳踏進長方櫃時(have one foot on the grave),你的一生將是全然的零
As long as you let your ego dissipate by the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you will put the Creator on the top priority in your life. You will administer the gift, wisdom, capacity and all your time more effectively to achieve your goal existing in the world. In addition, only when your effort accompanied by God’s blessings in Jesus Christ can you compose a tuneful melody. Otherwise, if you reject Jesus’ grace and love, live a self-centered life, and waste away your gift He entitled you, you will lose the meaning and value of your life. Therefore, all you have on earth will be sheer “zero” when you have one foot on the grave.(sheer zero)。

Tears are sometimes rolling down from your cheek whenever thinking of the past painful hardship and hurting experience. Let the love of God in Jesus Christ wipe away your tears, which have been changed into abundant blessings in your one-way trip approaching to God’s Kingdom. In the end, dark clouds have been dispersed away by Almighty God’s breath of love since you accepted Jesus Christ as your Savoir; heavy rain is falling down to nourish the great land. Flowers will be in full bloom in the garden of your heart. Thanks Jesus, our Lord for giving us so much love.

The seeds of God’s love have been planted in your heart. Do your utmost to irrigate them with your sincere heart, and let them change into a big tree, providing shade in the scorching sun, a shelter from the unexpected shower rain. Free at last like an eagle! Free at last like an eagle! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last like an eagle!” This is the hope of every God’s beloved child. This is the faith with which we will able to transform the mountain of despair into a stone of hope. Amen

Embrace thorny cactuses

Embrace thorny cactuses
This is what the LORD says:
"Cursed is the one who trusts in man,
who depends on flesh for his strength
and whose heart turns away from the LORD.
6 He will be like a bush in the wastelands;
he will not see prosperity when it comes. He will dwell in the parched places of the desert,
in a salt land where no one lives.
7 "But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,
whose confidence is in him.
8 He will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit."
學習英文好壞都能承受,既能享樂也能吃苦(take the rough with the smooth)

Where is my hope?

Sunken Titanic versus Risen Jesus
If everyone’s life is like a song being played in the journey through rough, treacherous ice mountain like the Titanic, how you compose it? Everyone has his or her own characteristics and disposition. Some are compassionate, others are industrious and persevering to the end despite being in hot water, still others are easily to be defeated by tough circumstances. Every one is unique in the sight of Almighty God. How do you handle your life if it is a song? Sufferings often give us a lot of materials to compose a heart-rending melody. Weakness can be transformed into a swansong as well. It is the God’s grace that we go through our weeping in our hard times; it is the God’s love that we can heal our hurts in the process of recovery from past wrongdoings.

On the journey to God’ Kingdom, we keep facing a lot of sink-or-swim choices in our lives, but we are always wiser after the event, since we simply rely on our own wisdom and ability, other than depend on faith and trust in God. We always regard ourselves as the Titanic, which could get through any stormy weather and the elements. But the so-called invincible Titanic was finally sunk deep lying on the bed of the ocean, only its movie to be remembered.

Romans 3:23-24, All have sinned and are not good enough for God’s glory, all need to be made right with God by his grace, which is a free gift. That is, God had given each of us the ability to do certain things, and all of our abilities are from God not efforts of our own. Apostle Paul said, “ I will not boast about myself, except about my weakness, for God’s power is sufficient for all of us, and is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weakness, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Thus, be strong to confess your weakness and turn to God for constant courage like Paul. When challenge approaches to you, we must rely on God for effectiveness instead of our energy, effort, or talent. Our weakness not only make God’ blessings flowing through our minds, but helps develop our integral character.. Blessed are those who admit you are poor in spirit and where you are lacking. True happiness comes from realizing when you need to ask for help from God, and then aspire to get tender comforts from unchangeable God. Mask-man can’t breathe any fresh air at all. On the contrary, tearing off your mask of ego, greed, fame, sin, and all kinds of evil desires, causing you to be an integral and compassionate person, will earn true respect and praise from people around you. What is more, you will get unfading blessings from Heaven.

New Year’s resolutions
(That is just who I am)的想法,因為我們是有能力去改變的。 (I’m broken-hearted, and where is my hope?)?
